Program Details

Hawkins Flight Academy recommends starting your flight training by earning a Sport Pilot’s Certificate. Many traditional flight schools do not have the ability or the aircraft (Light Sport Aircraft – LSA) to offer this valuable certificate. But at Hawkins, we believe it is the best strategy to become a Sport Pilot first, then move on to Private Pilot and beyond if that best fits your goals. If flying Light Sport Aircraft for recreational purposes suits your goals, you may even find that a Sport Pilot Certificate is all you need to fly the way that you want.

Why start with a Sport Pilot Certificate?

Sport Pilot Certificate training requirements

    • 15 hours of flight training with a flight instructor

    • 10 takeoffs and landings to a full stop
